Often a nomad wanders the land in
search of a good place to build a shelter, hunt
and gather food, possibly
set up shop for trade. Spot is a nomadic musician. He is
always touring around in random places around the country. One listens to his
music
and tries to place his style. He comes in like a whirlwind, and leaves with
everyone
having a sense of liking what he saw and heard, but not understanding it. Spot
would not have it any other way.
On
this particular night the nomad entertained a small audience at Rudyard's in
Houston
with a myriad of musical styles ranging from show tunes (M·A·S·H
theme and a song
from Napoleon Dynamite), provocative original instrumentals with a classical
and jazz
influence, sing-along banjo ditties, and a great slide guitar cover of the Johnny
Cash
classic Folsom Prison Blues. Throughout the night Spot had no problem keeping
up a
delightful banter with the small crowd, as well. At the end of the night Spot
climbed into
his mobile caravan and rode away, but his musical style and flair left an impression
and was much appreciated.
